The Philadelphia Catholic League Alumni Corps is a new nonprofit network working to revitalize neighborhoods across the city through large scale service activities. Our service focus is on projects whose impact will be long term and institutionally improve communities.
In 2012, our launch year, we’re doing one project per quarter, and in 2013 we’ll be expanding to one per month. Applications/inquiries for our next project, can be sent to bod@phillycatholics.com. Our first project occurred Feb. 25 at St. Thomas Aquinas in South Philadelphia and attracted 100+ young people. We have had over 300 people attend our events this year.
Our growing network is unique in that we’re uniting both traditional, practicing Catholics as well as aggressively working to re-engage cultural, self-identifying Catholics in order to strengthen our young Catholic professional community through shared service leadership.
Our network can assist with projects including:
- Grounds Beautification (lawn improvement, tree planting, sidewalk fixes, aesthetic upgrades, outdoor work, etc.)
- Job & Life Trainings (resume workshops, interview dry runs, personal finance trainings, time management, etc.)
- Project Development (physical plant repurposing, creating financial models, marketing plans and materials, brand creation, etc.)
- Other project types considered.
